Love first

love-of-god-tree-heart

I am kindly reminded once again of what is most important in this walk of faith.
So often we fall into the Law and forget to fall in love with Jesus.

The Lord COMMANDS we love Him with all that we are and to love our neighbor as our self.

How often do we forget compassion when we are slapping people in the face with “do this” or “do that”?
Or “STOP SINNING”, “STOP BEING A SINNER”, “STOP DOING THAT”, “BLAH BLAH BLAH”!

Yes we are called to stand firm on the word of God. And yes, He commands us to leave our sins behind.
But we have to remember that EVERYTHING He commands first comes from LOVE.
Why?
Because He IS LOVE!
He’s not a butterfly in the stomach kind of love, He is True Love, Love that is Truth.
He is the Love that hung on a cross for us when He never had to!

true love Jesus on the cross

He is the Love that could have forsaken us when He was being brutally beaten for the remission of our sins.
He could have called legions of angels to come and aid Him or cry out to the Father, and He would have saved Him.
but, that’s not the way The Lord Jesus Christ works. He came here as a servant. The Image of the invisible God came HERE for US to save us to be a servant. mind blowing.

The Humble King, I fall in love more when His humbleness is revealed, He came as a mere man, He became vulnerable for us, He felt everything we have felt and so much more.
Words cannot describe His love for us.
But He so graciously gave us the WORD, special instructions for living in this life, to keep us from sin and points us in the right direction until He comes back for us!

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

This verse is so beautiful and possibly the most recited verse…ever! Jesus was sent by the Father to come as the perfect sin offering for us! And Jesus willingly went! Why? Because Jesus and the Father are one and the Son wants what the Father wants. I think that’s so beautiful.

“but God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

Jesus was crucified for us while we were still sinners….God showed His mercy and His love, He was faithful to His promise. His wrath for sin was satisfied that day. I don’t think we can fully grasp this love. That’s something that needs to be supernaturally revealed to us. We need to understand His love, His heart.

The LORD has done everything out of love because He is LOVE! We don’t truly understand love until Christ is revealed to us.

I don’t care how much you think you are a good person and you do this and that. But, true love is NOT attainable in the natural. we ALL fail at loving perfectly. The only way to obtain this is by walking in the Spirit of God. And by walking in the Spirit of God is to surrender everything to Him. To fully trust Him. Obviously for some of us its hard for us to trust God because we have been brain washed by the devil and have been deeply scarred by tragedies of childhood. Our vision of His love is distorted because of what our earthly Dad’s have done or Dad figures have done to us.

We all need the love of our Daddy….

Don’t fear Child of God or future child of God………..The Lord knows all of our hurts and pains….our mental anguish….our needs…etc.

Let me tell you, No, let Him tell you…..He is faithful.

He IS FAITHFUL! And He is loving and personal. He cares about every single one of us. He knows what we need before we even ask. He see’s us naked before Him. He knows all and sees all. For goodness sake, He IS God!

Anyways, This whole message is about the Lord saying, “Don’t forget My love” and “don’t forget to love”.

We fall into religion so much, stumbling into the heaviness of the Law. But, Christ came to fulfill the Law and it is revealed that the greatest commandment is love! Love the Lord first before anything and anyone and then love your neighbor as yourself. very simple instructions. If we do this we are doing what the Lord wants us to do.

Remember to do EVERYTHING OUT OF LOVE!

Don’t worry, we will stumble and fall, get bruises and scrapes, possibly even deep flesh wounds in this walk but the Gracious Lord who see’s, will be there to help us, to clean us up and to minister to us. After all His Spirit lives within us.

How much more love can we get?

You ask for more, He will give you more.

Remember He is everlasting.

This is a journey of seeking and understanding His love and mercy. And we wont get it right away. Be joyous, He has chosen you to be His child, His servant, yes, like Jesus because we are co-heirs with Christ.

Now seek His love, ask for more of His heart everyday, stay in His word, cry out to Him and don’t forget that Love is the greatest commandment.

“Teacher, what is the greatest commandment in the Law?

Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:36-40

“Though I speak with tongues of men and of angels, but not have love I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned but have not love it profits me nothing.
Love suffers long and is kind, love does not envy, love does not parade itself, is not puffed up: does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in truth;
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge it will vanish away.” 1 Corinthians 13:1-8
